Cyclone Chido: Saved from the Waters!

Madagascar was spared by the cyclone. As for the Toby Kristy Voahombo, not even a drop of rain…

We know that we had nothing to do with it. That is grace! Considering the devastating toll taken by the cyclone on the neighboring Comoros archipelago, Mayotte, and Mozambique, we can affirm it: God had mercy on Madagascar. A direct hit from this cyclone on our land would have been an unimaginable human and economic tragedy. We feel compelled to pray for our neighbors who have been heavily affected by this devastating storm.

The roofing work on the building has been able to progress on the northern side of the roof. It has now become conceivable to celebrate Christmas under this new roof, with full gratitude to the One who, when born, found no more welcoming shelter than a humble stable to begin a mission that would ultimately change the destiny of humanity.

We know that you prayed with us and for us, both concerning this cyclone and the construction project. We are deeply thankful and encouraged: our Lord hears and answers!

During this Christmas season, we cannot help but remind ourselves (and you) that the Toby Kristy Voahombo was “born” on Christmas night in December 1974, marking the start of a revival. We will share more about this in another post, including testimonies from those involved in this event, one of whom is still alive. We will soon publish a testimony on this topic from Pastor Daniel Rajakoba, who left us for glory earlier this year, 2024. His greatest wish for this 50th anniversary of the revival was to celebrate Christmas and this jubilee in the new church with its roof completed. He has now gone ahead to partake in the most magnificent celebration: the wedding feast of the Lamb, who Himself will be the Temple, as revealed to us by the Bible. Our temporary buildings, however grand or beautiful they may be, pale in comparison to this eternal Temple!

It is with our eyes fixed on eternity, while diligently working in the present, that we send you our best wishes for Christmas 2024. May our celebrations always center on Him who endured the humiliation of being born among animals in a stable and dying crucified, the most degrading death, yet through His humiliation, purchased our restoration and exaltation to a royal and eternal destiny.

Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones!
