Roof Fully Installed: A Major Milestone

Covering the final section of the roof, exterior and interior painting, electrical work, flooring, furniture, and more... A race against time before the big annual gathering in May.

In February, the abundant rainfall, typical of this season, limits the work that can be undertaken. We use this time to adjust planning forecasts for the next phases, taking financial possibilities and scheduling into account. We are doubling our efforts to ensure that the new building can accommodate the several thousand participants expected at the annual gathering in May.

March 7: Resumption of Work on the Remaining Roof Section

The rainy season is far from over, but cyclones have largely spared the Sofia region. This has allowed roofing work to resume, completing the northern slope, which will make it possible to move on to the finishing touches.

Installing the Parapets

In the areas where the roof is fully installed, concrete block parapets are being built.

Start of Plaster Application

We are working in parallel as much as possible. While some teams focus on the roofs, others begin applying the finishing plaster to the beams and walls.

March 17: Roofing Completed!

A major psychological milestone: The roofing is now fully installed across the entire building. Hallelujah! This small victory calls for a proper celebration—mango juice for everyone! (Did we ever mention that TKV is the mango capital of the world? The best way to preserve them is by making purée, which is frozen and later used as a base for juice).

The completion of the roof also marks the official kickoff for the finishing phase—an entirely different challenge! Join us in tackling the goal of completing everything by the first half of May 2025!

March 20: Painting Begins

The first step in the painting process: applying a primer coat. The images below give a first glimpse of the building with its new paint…

We now have less than two months to complete the bulk of the project, focusing on the following:

  • Flooring finishes

  • Woodwork (doors & windows)

  • Electricity (interior equipment, solar installation)

  • Furniture (benches, lectern, pulpit, etc.)

Youcan see it as we do, we’ve made great progress, but there is still much to be done. Your prayers and support are more valuable than ever!

In the face of these challenges, we want to share this exhortation from the apostle Paul: to keep our eyes fixed on the ultimate goal, even as we work toward intermediate ones—like this construction project.

"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3.13-14)
